Welcome to Partner Spotlight! A highlight of the diverse and talented individuals in our Chicago Northwest region’s hospitality industry.
Meet Pratik Trivedi, Principle, Chief Marketing Director, Trivedi Hospitality
Pratik grew up in the hotel industry. After his parents immigrated from India, they purchased a hotel in Bloomington, Illinois when he was eight years old and managed the hotel through Pratik’s high school years and subsequentially purchased the Super 8 Hotel Elk Grove Village. “My days off from school and summers were spent helping them as much as I could. I attended Loyola University Chicago for marketing and after spending a few years in the corporate world decided to return to hospitality in late 2006. That year Pratik took over the day-to-day operations and subsequently brought on his Uncle Nick Trivedi to help accelerate their expansion efforts. I definitely learned a lot of lessons during the Great Recession that followed in 2007 and we have had steady but consistent growth since then.” says Pratik. Trivedi Hospitality now owns six hotels in the Chicagoland market including four in Schaumburg, the Elk Grove Village hotel and another in Des Plaines plus a seventh hotel in Indiana.
Taking pride in his team, Pratik boasts, “The most rewarding thing is the atmosphere we have in our company. I am so thankful to have known all the wonderful people that pour their hearts into their work. I cannot count how many times I am surprised in a week by our associates and their personal and professional accomplishments.”
Pratik counts himself as an environmentalist and installed 560 solar panels and multiple electric car charging stations at the TownePlace and Fairfield Inn complex in Schaumburg. “The builders and architects all thought we were crazy but it has paid off.” says Pratik.
With a passion for skiing, Pratik took up a new skill this year, snowboarding. Though he claims to be a terrible trainer, he also enjoys running in marathons. His goal is to finish the six major marathons of the world. He’s already completed Chicago and Berlin. New York City, Boston, London and Tokyo remain.
When asked what he would like to say to young professionals just getting their start he replies, “Keep learning and asking questions. Also, we love to hear your thoughts and ideas about what we can do to provide better experiences to our guests. We want to make coming to work enjoyable and informative so please don’t hold back.”
Special thanks to Pratik for sharing a little bit about himself! We hope you join us as we share Partner Spotlights each month.
